This week we had our Relief Society craft night. Although I'm not completely in love with how my project turned out, it got me thinking about all the possibi

lities with this:
The glass block!
Seen them used before?
You can get them at most hardware stores, and some craft stores
Here's the project we made:

For this, we used an 8 inch square that our bishop had drilled holes in the back for us. We pushed a short string of white Christmas lights through the hole, applied some vinyl on the outside and tied a ribbon about the edge. Not super hard when you have the supplies and hole cut :) There's just a couple things that bug me about this one, but if you make your own, you can make sure it's just how you like it!
So, there's a ton of crafts you can do with these types of block, so keep your eyes open for sales and get crafting!
Here's some fun ones I found:
Lighted Christmas Block - with more instructions, including drilling :)
Michaels craft using DecoBloc (pre-drilled)
DecoBloc Website - Lots of pictures for ideas!
Try using ModPodge - saw this one for Halloween, but could be adapted for any idea
